Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently is the president of the organization. Buss is an California native who grew in a well-off family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon before becoming the proprietor of Lakers as well as other companies. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened when her parents separated in 1972. At the age of 19 she was able to take over her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. Later she founded her own Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. The position she held was President of Great Western Forum prior to being elected vice-president of the Lakers. Buss and her five sisters were heirs to the Lakers majority ownership following the death of Buss' father in 2013. Each sister had the same voice. The Lakers named her president. Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also co-founder of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion headquartered within Los Angeles.
